Measles can lead to blindness among children

I mentioned in my previous that measles is having an outbreak in Metro Manila and even made mention also of the specific cities that were affected. This time, I will be sharing here one of the complications of measles which every mothers do not want to happen to their kids.

There are actually a lot of complications caused by measles infection which include blindness, encephalitis (an infection that causes brain swelling), severe diarrhea and related dehydration, ear infections, and even severe respiratory infections such as pneumonia. But what we are more concern from the mentioned complications if the children will recover from measles infection is blindness.

Measles infection can cause scarring of the cornea of the children and eventually blindness.

So mothers, if you are suspecting that your child has measles, immediately see your child’s physician for the immediate management.
