Moreover, these are some of the common causes of Ecchymoses to include trauma or injury, fracture, autoimmune disease, infection (be it viral or those that affects blood coagulation) and other blood diseases like hemophilia.
Ecchymoses are also present in patients who are undergoing medical treatment like chemo and radiation therapy. Patients who are taking antiplatelet drugs like clopidogrel may manifest with ecchymoses also. THis is the same as to patients who are taking anticoagulant drugs like warfarin, heparin and the like.
