Aspirin helps prolongs colorectal cancer patients’ lifespan

According to the latest report in the New England Journal of Medicine, a study conducted by the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute revealed that patients having colorectal cancer and at the same time having tumor gene PIK3CA responded to aspirin therapy.

However, the study on aspirin therapy is only applicable to patients whose tumor genes in colorectal cancer contain PIK3CA. For patients with colorectal cancer but do not have PIK3CA tumor genes, aspirin may not be as effective as those that has the tumor genes.
