Last semester,in our Pharmacology class, we were required to make an experimental thesis. Though, making a thesis, humbly sharing to you, is quite easy already for me, and I guess for every graduates of UP. I was the group’s leader. We were four in our group and I was only the lass.
Anyway, the research study went good. However, during the experiment proper, we have had hard time looking for our test material. It’s because, aside from the fact that the four of us in the group is not from here in Cebu and we don’t know much about where to go to look for something, Cebu City doesn’t have that eco park or nature’s park like Davao City’s. That took us almost a month just to find Hibiscus or gumamela for our experiment.
Actually, there are just a lot of gumamela out there. But in an experiment, for it to be valid and to avoid biases, we need an abundant supply of gumamela from a single source where in the plant would only have the same temperature in the area, nutrient source and more.
Good enough, my boyfriend remembered that there are a lot of gumamela plant inside the Mactan Air Base, Lapu Lapu City. He asked permission for us to gather gumamela plants. And eventually, we were able to harvest gather gumamela plants enough for our experiment.

The gumamela is looking pinkish here, but they’re really red in real.

Have a great week ahead guys!
