Here’s one good news to every yearning to be a medical doctors but financially challenged, the PINOY MD program from the Philippine Department of Health (DOH) and the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) to the Philippine Medical Schools , a 5-year medical scholarship program, are now growing and growing.
To qualify for the said scholarship, applicants must completed a Bachelor’s Degree with 35 units in Sciences subjects (Chemistry, Natural Science, Physics, Microbiology, Genetics). The applicant must have a GWA (general weighted average) of 2.50 or better and off course, must not be more than 35 years old upon application.
Here’s more, the CGFI (combined gross family income) of the applicant shouldn’t be more than 30,000 PhP/month of 360,000 PhP/annum. The applicant must have taken also the NMAT (National Medical Admission Test) and have a percentile score of 40 and above; with good moral character and haven’t charged criminally and must be physically and MENTALLY fit.
And the most important of this program is the willingness of the applicant to render two years of service to the Philippine Government for every year of scholarship. This would mean that the medical student would serve the government for ten years after graduation.
Though am not part of this , am really happy to hear that MEDICAL STUDENTS are flooding now in the Philippines with this Philippine Government’s program since the country really needs a lot of medical doctors to serve our countrymen. Good luck guys!
